Hong Kong Filmography Vol IX (1980–1982) (In Chinese)
The 1980s was a golden era for Hong Kong films. In the early 1980s, local films outperformed foreign ones at the box office. Well-developed cinema circuits competed fiercely with one another, while Shaw Brothers, Golden Harvest and Cinema City stood out as the three major film production companies. In addition, an increase in number of films produced, the abundant acclaimed works of the emerging new wave directors, and the establishment of the Hong Kong Film Awards were all testaments to the vibrancy of local film industry during this period.
Hong Kong Filmography Volume IX compiles information on over 300 fiction films and documentaries produced and screened in Hong Kong from 1980 to 1982. The book is 240 pages in length, including six full-colour pages, and a complete film list and three indices. Published in 2025, priced at HK$280. (Edited by Wing NG)
