Maggie Cheung worked on set for only four to five days, but stole every scene she was in, and won the 27^th Golden Horse Award for Best Actress in Supporting Role.


Characteristics of the Qipao Costume

To match the direct and resilient personality of the character, this outer robe is made of a masculine plaid and accessorised with canvas boots, a wool sweater and padded pants. To the costume designer, this young woman who lived a wandering lifestyle would own pragmatic pieces, to be casually coordinated with whatever garments within reach, rather than follow fashion conventions.
