Bursting with tireless spirit, youth dance film returns to Hong Kong in high energy with The Way We Dance in which different corners of Hong Kong and college campuses become dance battlegrounds. The young and talented wannabe street dancer Fleur (Cherry Ngan) is the latest star of the university's dance crew. She also befriends Alan (BabyJohn Choi) from the Tai Chi Club, inspiring her to incorporate Tai Chi in her choreography. When a devastating accident confines Fleur to a wheelchair for three months, her hope to beat the rival dance group is dashed. Her opponent, however, tells her about his past and gives her renewed insight on the true meaning of dance. Over 500 dancers auditioned for this film that brought a slew of new talents into the spotlight including Lokman Yeung who later joined the boy group Mirror. Ngan conveys the character's passion for dance with conviction and brings out the youthful zest in the audience. Director Adam Wong Sau-ping captures the youth's relentless pursuit of dreams with the line 'so how far are you willing to go for dance?' which made its way into mainstream discourse.
