The 36th Chamber of Shaolin also showcases the tracks and hacks of many different weapons. The story unfolds when a man, determined to avenge his family's death, joins the Shaolin Temple to be trained in martial arts, learning to master each and every weapon. Lau Kar-leung recreates a classic fight scene from The New One-armed Swordsman between the three-sectioned staff and the twin blades. The flexibility of the three-part staff allows the weapon to turn corners and counter-strikes at unusual angles, making it possible to block, attack and snatch the foe's weapons all at once.
