Hung (Hung Sin Nui) enjoys her loving family even when her younger sister Pak (Pak Suet-sin) is obviously smitten with Hung's boyfriend Chun (Cheung Wood-yau). Her life is upended when Wan (Ma Si-tsang), a gambler and Hung's biological father, makes an unexpected visit to demand her return. The film's casting is superb and adds nuances to the dynamics between the characters. Pak Suet-sin as the rebellious teenage girl may be willful but not annoying. Ng Cho-fan plays the doting father with kindness and acceptance. Hung Sin Nui gives a measured performance from hesitation in accepting her new identity to the uneasiness with her real father. As a hoodlum who demands his daughter back when drunk to overflowing with tenderness upon seeing her, Ma Si-tsang portrays a complex character through his mere glances, tone and even hairstyle.
