An adaptation of an essential Ma-Hung collaboration after they returned to Guangzhou,  The Lost Kite  tells the story of a maid-servant (Hung Sin Nui) who is forced to leave home due to unfounded accusations of her having an affair with a scholar, and later meets a kindly school teacher (Ma Si-tsang). Lovely as ever, with a divinely clear and melodious voice, Hung is charming and unforgettable in her role. Ma, on the other hand, attempts to play an old character for the first time in his career, adding an exciting sense of unfamiliarity and freshness to his role. ‘Reflections under the Moonlight' is a remarkable performance in Ma's late-career, a consummate display of poise, attention to detail, and righteousness that informs his character.
