In another comedy on the bliss (and battle) of marriage, Ma Si-tsang is the wife-fearing father-in-law Wong whose wife is played by Lau Hark-suen in a gender-bending role. Pak Yin acts as their daughter who just got married. All is merry until the mother wants the daughter to subdue her own husband (Ho Fei-fan) at all costs. Ma has pity for his son-in-law and becomes an ally with schemes to strike back. Through scenes of parallel cutting, the young couple engages in marital combat with their respective strategists on their side. Lau Hark-suen shines in his role as the dominating wife with a commanding presence while Ma gives a smooth and refined performance, especially when he is in a dilemma while dealing with his son-in-law and wife.
