With his enormous success, Ma Si-tsang's comedic style and image were followed if not replicated by younger actors. Leung Sing-por's character Leung is also a penny pincher wearing cheongsam with a moustache. Leung is infatuated with Siu Hung (Hung Sin Nui) who just came to the city and is already mutually attracted to Leung's son (Law Kim-long). Leung's brother in law (Ko Lo Chuen) persuades him to be the sugar-daddy of Siu Hung, and hilarity ensues when Siu Hung only acknowledges Leung as a foster-daddy instead. Although there are glimpses of Ma Si-tsang in Leung Sing-por's portrayal of a miser, Leung is much more at ease in the role. He provides empathy and brings to life the character who is both frightened of his shrewish wife and feeling amorous.
