True to Cantonese cinema ethos, Tso Tat-wah's toughness is balanced with genteel humility, a manifestation of kinder and gentler times. In this two-part wuxia saga, he plays an accomplished martial artist dragged into an epic struggle that spans three generations. He is partnered with action diva Yu So-chow, in another version of the cherished collaboration that is now the stuff of film legend. The film is helmed by Wong Tin-lam, the proficient Mandarin director who also left his mark years later acting in the films of Johnnie To.

The image and sound quality of the original 16mm sole print is short of ideal, we appreciate your understanding.
