The Qing-dynasty novel Seven Knights and Thirteen Chivalrous Men is another popular literary work often adapted for the big screen. This 1967 film version is an exciting spectacle at the time with colourful film sets, intricate traps, and dazzling special effects. The seven knights of the Siu clan, headed by Bik Sheung (Law) and Tsui Ming-ko (Tso Tat-wah), are commanded by their master to fight against the Prince of Ning, Chu Chun-ho (Cheng Kwan-min) who plots to overthrow the emperor. Chu sends two assassins (played by Sek Kin and Lee Hong-kum) to kill the seven knights but to no avail. The grand villain (also played by Sek Kin) subsequently uses sorcery to harm the knights who are eventually saved by their master. The film was a hit and escalated Law's film career, establishing her as the ultimate martial arts actress at the time along with Yu So-chow.
