A cautionary tale of modern society and human relationships adapted from Law Tong-nap's serial published in Sing Tao Man Pao. Tsui Sau-lan (Law), a dutiful daughter, is married to Wong Ka-Chun (Woo Fung), who is also a devoted son to his family. She remains obedient and reverent to her snobbishness mother-in-law (Tam Lan-hing), but when Wong takes the rap and goes to jail for his half-brother (Mak Kay), the family's fortunes decline. Tsui has no choice but to seek help from her relatives with her daughter, while Wong's brother also leaves home for a new life in Southeast Asia, leaving behind the mother-in-law who ends up begging on the street for a living. Law delivered a heartfelt performance by capturing every nuance of a woman's struggle of being a duteous housewife amid a complicated in-law relationship.
