Yam Kim-fai and Yu Lai-zhen were seamless partners who worked together in more than 20 films involving martial arts segments and acrobatic acts. In the publicity for this movie's release, the major acts were listed out, such as hair-flinging, somersaults, leg-swirling, helmet-plucking, body-twirling, wielding pheasant plumes, and so forth. Meng Kau-lung (Yam Kim-fai) and Tai Fung (Yu Lai-zhen), the daughter of nobleman Kam Chin-pao (Leung Sing-por), overcome challenges to marry each other, before Kam is framed as a traitor and sentenced to death. Madam Kam (Poon Yat-on) and their daughters are led to believe Meng was the executor, leading to the climax of the film—a 30-minute revenge fighting scene that highlights the spectacular operatic martial skills of both Yam and Yu. As today marks 30 years since the passing of Yam, this film is the perfect remembrance of the forever maestro.
