Adapted from the 1952 Cantonese opera, Lust is the Worst Vice uses two classic Sun Ma Si-tsang songs, ‘Begging for Food' and ‘Lament of the Jade Sheng', as recurring motifs to convey the film's moral message. The story centres on Sun Ma and his brother Yuen Siu-fai. After witnessing his stepmother's adulterous affair, Sun Ma was made blind and subsequently cast out onto the streets. As the film ends, his stepmother repents before passing away, accompanied by evocative Sun Ma's singing, the scene makes a touching ending. Sun Ma's mastery of the falsetto singing, his impressive vocal range, and the clarity of his notes are unparalleled to this very day. The image and sound quality is short of ideal, we appreciate your understanding.
