Besides preserving signature vocal styles of different adept Cantonese opera artists, films also recorded quintessential operatic posture and martial art feats. Adapted from child prodigy Yu Kai's original work Heroics in the 1950s , the film mark the return of a grown-up Yu. Yu plays roving bandit keung who goes into hiding after being falsely accused. He displays his acrobatic skills while defeating various adversaries along the way, such as shooting an arrow woth one foot, wielding of tasselled spears and the symbolised horse-riding posture. Yu also performs 'Yuji swordplay' merging perfectly with music from 'In the Deep of the Night'.
