An example of how film tells a story behind the stage of Cantonese opera in a documentary way. In Cantonese opera tradition, there are women who play male roles such as Yam Kim-fai, Cecilia Lee Fung-sing and Lung Kim Sung, they are among the most outstanding and successful. However, men who play female roles are few in Cantonese opera, actors who sing in falsetto and play female roles are still looked at with prejudice. The film is about two young men from Hong Kong who aspire to play female roles on the road to fulfilling their dreams: how they are being misunderstood, how they help and support each other and how they being struggle. One of them quits; the other forges ahead alone, hoping to stumble ahead with just his hopes to light the way.
