Hit-maker Wong Jing takes on Jin Yong's iconic novel with this hilarious and fast-paced adaptation. Stephen Chow stars as Wai Siu-bo, a nobody who accidentally becomes a spy for a revolutionary group and a fake eunuch in the imperial palace. Wong's approach is hardly faithful to the original novel, but Chow's brand of witty, mischievous humour makes him the best Wai ever. Ng Man-tat also plays off Chow perfectly as a sinister eunuch who turns Wai's life into a living hell. The scene in which Ng turns into an unhinged maniac who fights the villain as Guan Yu from Romance of the Three Kingdoms is pure comic gold.
