Anita Mui was in the centre of controversy when Richard Lam's lyrics for Bad Girl—the theme song of this movie—was considered too risqué for public consumption at the time. However, this romantic comedy's definition of what makes a bad girl is far less controversial—mahjong addiction. When Mui learns that her boyfriend (Anthony Chan) harbours a hatred for the game, she pulls out every trick up her sleeve to hide her favourite pastime. Featuring Mui in one of her first leading roles, the film paved the way for Mui as a comedic actress.
