Anita Mui was still in the middle of her meteoric rise to the top of Hong Kong's pop music world when she took on the role of a superstar who abandons her uncaring manager (James Wong) in this 1985 musical. However, her musical performances—including a dazzling stage duet with Russell Wong—already show Mui fitting into her throne like a glove.
