With her marriage on the rocks, Michele (Anita Mui) takes off to Europe for a vacation. In the South of France, she meets her husband's mistress, a Japanese woman named Miki (Risa Junna). The two become fast friends, bonding over conversations about life and love. After Intimates (1997), director Jacob Cheung once again examines the complex inner lives of women with this delicate and ultimately harrowing travelogue. Mui's performance as the melancholic traveller was the highlight of an especially prolific year for the superstar, earning her a Best Actress nomination at both the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Golden Horse Awards.
