Journalist Ku Yuk-han (Josephine Siao Fong-fong) tries her best to help poverty-stricken university student Cheung Kar-fai (Woo Fung). However, Kar-fai decides to join a drug cartel in order to escape the poverty that he believes led to his mother's death. To Ping plays a pivotal role as Siu Ming, the nightclub manager who links the two protagonists together and solves their misunderstandings. For a grand song-and-dance number performed by To, Woo and Siao, the production company even hired a choreographer from the Philippines to design the sequence. In the film, Siao shows off her dance skills and plays three different characters. It's no surprise that the film ended up propelling her to instant stardom.
