Director Tsui Hark takes the reins as the Aces Go Places franchise takes its hijinks abroad with its third installment. No longer a thief, King Kong is hired to retrieve the Queen's crown jewels by a British secret agent. After realising that the job was an elaborate setup by an international criminal organisation, King Kong must work with old pal Albert Au to stop the "agent" from stealing the jewels. A full-on James Bond spoof, Aces Goes Places III . features an exciting action set piece on the Eiffel Tower, appearances by past Bond villains Odd Job and Jaws, and even Sean Connery's younger brother Neil as the evil British secret agent. The film was another Lunar New Year hit for Cinema City, becoming the highest-grossing film of the franchise.
