Is your favourite "dream come true" film one in which the main character successfully wins over the heart of his boss's daughter? And is it not even better when he can reach the upper ranks of a company thanks to his wife? Yam (Sam Hui) starts off on the wrong foot with Hing (Teddy Robin) and Sunny (Tsui Hark), but by chance find themselves working at the same oppressive noodle factory. Maltreatment of the supervisor (David Wu) and a group of tyrannical superiors prompts the trio to conjure up a host of tricks to vent the frustrations of their peers. Much to his surprise, Yam is not punished but instead promoted by the company president. Little does he know that his girlfriend May (Joey Wong) is the boss's beloved daughter. When the truth is revealed, Yam proposes to break up to save his pride. The story is by no means finished, but the film provides the comforting belief that crafty methods and shoe-shining the boss will never beat depending on one's own hard work.
