After All the Wrong Clues (...for the Right Solution) (1981) and All the Wrong Spies (1983) , George Lam and Teddy Robin reunite for this buddy murder mystery, about a diminutive convict named "Ping Pong Ball" (Teddy Robin) who is brought to England to assist a clever Scotland Yard inspector (Lam) with a murder case. While hiding from assassins, "Ping Pong Ball" meets a blind teacher (Cherie Chung) who ends up being a key witness. Skillfully juggling multiple genres in a tricky balancing act, Hong Kong New Wave veteran Leung Po-chih creates an entertaining, offbeat comedy with three great leads and gorgeous sights of London covered in wintry haze.
