At the height of World War II, a private detective (George Lam) is tasked to retrieve a weapon blueprint from a corrupted police commissioner. To complete the job, the detective must pose as a Japanese officer and plan an elaborate heist with an inspector (Teddy Robin) and his former lover (Brigitte Lin). The Cinema City team reinterprets the Casablanca (1942) formula as a cartoonish and endlessly inventive spy comedy that only Hong Kong cinema can produce. Director Teddy Robin bravely challenges cinematic tradition, throwing narrative logic out the window, breaking the fourth wall by having his actors address the audience directly and letting the woman take the spotlight as the spy hero of the story.
