Director Ho Moon-hua brings together seven beauties to play the seven Spider Demons in this visually imaginative adaptation of another episode from Journey to the West . Believing that eating the flesh of monk Tong will lead to eternal life, the seven demons devise a scheme to capture the monk by seducing his disciple Pigsy while Monkey King is away. Fortunately for the monk, the only thing that's more terrifying than being hunted by seven Spider Demons is the greed that drives the demons. Replacing Elliot Yueh Hua as Monkey King, Chou Lung-chang reportedly went on a strict diet and spent months observing real monkeys to incorporate their movements into his performance.
