Director Wu Pang and screenwriter Lo Ling unite popular characters from well known folklores for a grand big-screen adventure about the Ape King known as King Kong (not quite the same as the Hollywood one). Desperate to escape the constraints of heaven, King Kong steals God Yi Long (Tso Tat-wah)'s badge to the human world – a gift from the Jade Emperor – and uses its powers to raise trouble there. Trying to cover for his mistake, God Yi Long recruits Lotus Princess and Goddess of Mercy to catch the wayward beast. When that fails, God Yi Long is finally forced to seek the help of Monkey King, who isn't very keen to help the gods after causing the 'Uproar in Heaven.'
