Wan (Tang Bik-wan) has been arranged to marry Fai (Law Kim-long) at a young age, but her father (Wong Cho-shan) intends to derail the arranged marriage and marry his daughter off to Ling (Yam Kim-fai), the son of a wealthy businessman, because Fai's family is too poor. Being misled by her father that Fai was the one who cancelled the wedding, Wan angrily goes to the big city, only to be rejected by Ling's family. To get revenge and earn the respect she deserves, Wan switches identity with her rich cousin Heung (Lee Heung-ying). Meanwhile, the heartbroken Fai also switches identity with Ling in order to prove that money is more important than love. The result is a hilarious farce of mistaken identity bolstered by a talented cast featuring some of Hong Kong's biggest and most talented stars in the 50's. Beneath the broad comedy, however, lies compelling questions about love, money and how woman view marriage in a rapidly modernising society. Note that the screening copy has flickering problem throughout due to worn and damage.
