An unofficial sequel to the Academy Award winning film Chariots of Fire , The Last Race tells the second half of Scottish Olympic running champion Eric Liddell's life. Set in one of the biggest internment camps Japan built in China during WWII, the film shows how foreign and local inmates were brought together by a common enemy and the desperate conditions of war through the unique relationship between Liddell and Chinese villagers. Taking great efforts to prepare the film, Stephen Shin visited Canada, the UK and other countries to find survivors and witnesses of the internment camps to conduct interviews and collect research materials, taking great efforts to prepare the film.
