1978-79 / Colour / D Beta / Cantonese / Around 45 min per episode, totaling 91 min

Both of these episodes by Wong Chi are character portraits that try to deviate from Below the Lion Rock's usual realist style by examining the inner psychological states of two very different men. Kin is clearly already a man at the edge of sanity when we see him speaking to himself as he prepares for a day at a job he doesn't have. Later, he is conned into joining a pyramid scheme for a cosmetics company, though it's clear that he's not a skilled salesman. In the end, we find out that his father's failure during a stock market crash caused Kin to become the man that he is today. Starring filmmaker Ng Wui, Old Master Ko follows the life of an old, social outcast mechanic who refuses to take on a disciple and has given up hope in his life.
