A young girl Yuen-wah (Josephine Siao Fong-fong) runs away from a reformatory. When Sze Hon-wai (Lui Kay) sees her on the street, he mistakes her for the missing heiress Ma Siu-lai. Honwai suggests that Yuen-wah poses as Siu-lai to comfort the latter's grandpa. Once a delinquent, Yuen-wah turns over a new leaf under the love of the grandfather. But then Siu-lai's aunt starts to question her real identity, while her cousin and the villains who used to know her threaten to expose her white lie…The script by Szeto On drops suspenseful clues in various places to keep the audience enthralled. The characters are also three dimensional and vividly written. Together with the brilliant mise-en-scene of the director and the quick pace, they make the film highly watchable. Sek Kin, who usually plays the villain, gives a rare performance as a doting grandfather. Loving towards his granddaughter and brusque with the cousin with ulterior otives, his character is both fatherly and authoritative. Equally adept at singing and dancing, the young Josephine Siao Fong-fong, is more than just the darling of Sek Kin and Lui Kay. (Due to the contraction of the film, part of the print is incorrectly focused. We apologize for this technical problem.)
