Lam Kei (Sek Kin) and brothers Hak Sei (Pak Man-biu) and Hak Kit (Ng Yan-chi) carry out a jewellery heist. A dispute over the uneven distribution of the loot arises, leading Lam to kill Sei, after being blinded by branding. Lam’s wife is murdered by Sei’s wife, Yam Yuk-chi (Ha Ping), but the couple’s young daughter, Lam Ying, survives. More than a decade later, Yam discovers the whereabouts of Lam and Ying (Josephine Siao). Soon after Lam is slain by Sei’s daughter, Rose (Shum Chi-wah), Yam tries to make peace with Ying. Ying seizes the opportunity to conduct a covert investigation and learns there is a hidden plot behind the case.
Wong Fung has directed numerous action thrillers, such as Yellow Giant (1962) and Midnight Werewolf (1963). After working with Siao on Bat Girl in 1967, he added Shum to the mix in his project the following year, creating a film featuring two heroines with intertwined fates—the two initially antagonise each other, but ultimately team up to take down the forces of evil.
