Wong Ming-sing (Connie Chan in a cross-cast role) and Wong Ming-wai (Connie Chan) are siblings. Their detective uncle, Lau Hon-wah (Lok Kung), is captured while investigating the illegal dealings of wealthy businessman Kam Kong (Sek Kin) and imprisoned in a secret room within Kam’s lair. To find their uncle, Ming-sing and Ming-wai pose as a bar bouncer and nightclub singer respectively, infiltrating the enemy camp to investigate.
Chan plays both the brother and sister in this film, showcasing her acting prowess in cross-cast roles. Having frequently taken on such roles since childhood, she continued to depict young women who disguised themselves as men from time to time as an adult. Here, she portrays the intelligent and courageous Ming-sing with natural ease. In the finale, where everyone works together to bring the criminals to justice, there is a moment of striking poignancy as Ming-sing finds himself torn between gratitude and righteousness in his face-off with Kam.
