In the world of cinema, the kind-hearted, intelligent, and beautiful leading lady always rouses the jealousy of the other female characters—the same holds true for this film’s protagonist Ng Hoi-yin (Connie Chan). Following the death of her father, she travels to Hong Kong to take refuge with her wet nurse, getting the better of Pearl Chan (Nancy Sit), the unruly daughter of her wet nurse’s boss and becoming Chan’s tutor. She also falls in love with the young master of the house, Tsi-ying (Lui Kay), sparking the jealousy of Ying’s classmate, Lee Yuet-wah (Yip Ching). Through the recommendation of her friend Wong Ming-sang (Cheung Ching), Ng secures a teaching position, which in turn enrages Sang’s wife and leads to the breakdown of her relationship with Ying...
This film reunites two of the Seven Princesses, namely Chan and Sit. The two are filled with youthful energy as they sing and dance in the garden, splash around in the pool, and catch butterflies at a ball. Meanwhile, Chan and Lui’s duet of Girls are Flowers during their countryside excursion sweetly captures the thrill of first love.
