Great Wall Movie Enterprises Ltd, Feng Huang Motion Picture Co, and Sun Luen Film Co were established successively in the 1950s and merged in 1982 to form Sil-Metropole Organisation Ltd. From a macro perspective, Sil-Metropole has been involved in more than five hundred film productions across a wide range of genres, leaving a lasting imprint on Hong Kong cinema through its many acclaimed works.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Sil-Metropole, the Hong Kong Film Archive has curated over a hundred invaluable pieces of promotional material from its collection, including film stills, posters, film brochures, and special publications, which have been thoughtfully arranged by period and theme. The exhibition showcases the creative evolution of Sil-Metropole across different eras, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the cinematic worlds crafted by generations of filmmakers.
