Chinese student in Korea Hua (Ting Ying) is very good friends with Korean classmate Soo-ok (Nam Jeong-im). Hua is hospitalised with acute appendicitis. Doctor Lee Sang-hyun (Shin Seong-il) saves her life. Soo-ok falls in love with him, but he loves Hua. Soo-ok’s jealousy turns her and Hua into enemies. Soo-ok even breaks up Hua and Dr Lee’s relationship with rumours. In the 1960s, Wong Cheuk-hon actively cooperated with various Korean film companies. For this film, he engaged famous Korean director Chung Chang-hwa to direct. The film was nominated to participate in the 14th Asian Film Festival in 1967. The stellar cast was made up of A-list Hong Kong and Korean stars: in addition to Lan Kwong’s Ting Ying and Cheung Yee, there were also the most popular Korean actor Shin Seong-il, three-time Asian Film Festival's Best Actor winner Kim Seung-ho, the ‘Korean Connie Chan Po-chu’ Nam Jeong-im and Asian Film Festival's Best Supporting Actress winner Hwang Jeong-sun. The film was shot in a colour widescreen format, capturing the most magnificent views of Korea’s autumn and winter scenery. In order to strategically expand the market range, Wong had the film dubbed in Cantonese for its release in Hong Kong.
Please note the quality of some segments of this film is poor.
