When factory girl Meifang (Hu Chin) fell into the clutches of the drug cartel due to her weak conscience, she risks her life to take photos of the drug dealers' illegal acts. Her attempt fails and she was stabbed by the gang’s minion Akun (Chan Yuen-lung). Before she dies, she secretly hides the negatives in a taxi driven by Chen Jian (Charlie Chin), which led to a series of mishaps to him both at home and at work. Just when he is on the verge of total despair, Meifang’s sister Meihua (Lam Sau) visits him and identifies herself as a policewoman. The two of them then join hands to solve the mystery about Meifang’s death and trace the photo evidence left by her, thereby cracking down the drug-dealing gang.
One of the pioneering moves of the plot is to showcase Yuen Chau as a kung-fu fighting female, playing a capable policewoman. Her fists and kicks are at once authentic and magnificent. Yuen Chau is actually Jackie Chan’s senior comrade in the Hong Kong-China Opera Institute under Peking opera master Yu Zhanyuan, both being professional stand-ins for martial art films during the 70s and 80s.
The image quality of the original print is short of ideal. We appreciate your understanding.
