A few tightly knit comedic plotlines follow the lives of job-seeking Ah Kei (Ng Kong), his girlfriend Kit, his housemate Mok Choi (Lai Kwong-chiu) and show how they got mingled in the affairs of a female gangster boss whose gambling den was backed by a corrupted police officer. An interesting add-on is the injection of a film shooting crew, sarcastically showing how action scenes were being produced on street location with extras, stand-ins and stunt choreographers. While the protagonists busy chase down two missing lottery tickets, two stupid thieves attempt to make a bomb and try to rob a betting outlet. A bag full of money got interchanged with the bag containing the bomb, and coincidentally saves Kit who has fallen victim to the gangsters. After a series of comical farce, the bad guys got arrested and the market enjoys peace once again.
The whole film has a tight rhythm and profiles the daily life of ordinary citizens. Interspersed with a series of absurd encounters and action scenes, the story rolls out a complex urban landscape that is at once weird, witty and money-oriented. A fledgling Ng Kong is full of charm and energetically showing off his solid martial art combat skills.
