The beautiful and skilled jewel thief Zhao Wenying (Lin Dai) is clever and resourceful, causing confusion for both the police officer and the wealthy heir Situ Dawei (Kelly Lai Chen), whom she steals from. She also intentionally plays tricks on Dawei's wealthy fiancée, sabotaging their relationship. Dawei advises her to change her ways and settle down to find her true love, while she encourages him to be self-reliant and not depend on his uncle's subsidy. The two begin to develop mutual feelings for each other, but Dawei is reluctant to break up with his wealthy fiancée. Ultimately the thief uses a little trick to drive the young lady away. This prompts Dawei to rethink on his life path and whom her true love is. The lady thief also decides to turn over a new leaf and the two tie the love knot. This film is adapted from a popular stage play by Hsiung Shih-I and is scripted by Evan Yang, blending Western romantic situational comedy with localised melodrama. Lin Dai's mischievous expressions and her impeccable rhythm in delivering lines make her a focal point of the film.
