The wealthy young lady Ye Weifang, well aware of the advantage of her beauty, treats love as a game and her suitors as collectibles. This spoiled character might seem unlikable, but Lin Dai managed to act her out with an impressive charm and liveliness, making her a loveable young lady that knows exactly what she wants. Despite knowing that her sister Weiling (Nellie Chin Yu) is in love with Tao Wenbing (Peter Chen Ho), she flirts with him and teases the unattractive professor (Liu Enjia) at the same time, causing her admirers to swarm around her, vying for her attention. However, the heart of this flirtatious butterfly actually belongs to her critical cousin Shi Rongsheng (Chang Yang), and her seemingly unreasonable actions are all meant to provoke his jealousy. Penned by renowned novelist Eileen Chang, the script portrays a modern and blithe young lady who actively seeks love, and Lin Dai’s charismatic portrayal turns the character's flaws into endearing and delightful gestures.
