Yasi's Journey of Literature and Film

Professor Leung Ping-kwan (aka Yasi) of the Centre for Humanities Research at the Lingnan University of Hong Kong has a long history of partnering with the Hong Kong Film Archive, spearheading a number of academic and cultural research projects related to film and literature. Under his guidance, many students from the Lingnan University have taken part in research or exhibition projects at the Hong Kong Film Archive. “Leung Ping Kwan (1949-2013), A Retrospective”, presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, organized by the Hong Kong Fringe Club, in association with the Art Promotion Office and Hong Kong Public Libraries, solely sponsered by Ms Tsui Li, comprises a series of activities in memory of Yasi will be held from January to March 2014. The Hong Kong Film Archive will also host a screening and post-screening talk programme on Jan 5th, which marks the one year anniversary of his death. Guest speakers invited are: Law Kar (HKFA’s ex-Programmer), Lee Choi-leung (RTHK Producer and Director) and Dr Mary Wong (Director of the Centre for Humanities Research, Lingnan University).
