Lin Dai does more than act, dance and lipsynch in Love Parade. She also designs the costumes, and gets credited for it. True to her superstar persona, Lin was meticulous about her looks and had been heavily involved in the design of her on-screen clothing, especially in films of modern setting. This Shaw production, with its fashion-themed backstage format, is a companion piece to rival MP & GI's Cinderella and Her Little Angels, and its extravagance accentuates the differences between the studios.
