White Snake is a cherished figure in Chinese folk myth, a serpent which has attained mighty supernatural power through centuries of training. Bored with the peace and quiet of the heavens, she descends on earth, only to meet and then marry a handsome scholar, an incarnate of the man who has saved her from perils years ago. Her mortal bliss is condemned by a well-meaning monk, who vows to break the couple up to save the man… Who better to portray the fantastic adventures of this gorgeous blend of goddess, reptile and woman than the magnificent Lin Dai?
