Way Down West is one of two 1927 films directed by Hou Yao and produced by China Sun Motion Picture Co., Ltd. Hou brilliantly interprets the classic novel Romance of the West Chamber with a fertile imagination and state-of-the-art special effects, turning the film into a dreamy fantasy.
